Region
THE ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKI REGION is unusual, although it is presently associated with the area within the administrative limits of the Świętokrzyskie province, this land has been historically and geographically located in the fork of the Vistula and Pilica Rivers.
Some branches remained the typical speciality of the Świętokrzyski Region. In particular related to the construction industry and building materials, armaments and precision industries. It is characteristic of the region, that despite a high level of industrialisation, it is regarded as one of the ecologically cleanest in the country. In order to protect nature, one of Poland's most beautiful parks, The Świętokrzyski National Park was established. The effect
of this consistent ecological activity has been an improvement in the condition of the environment, measured by lowered emission of pollutants and higher cleanliness of rivers and water reservoirs. The good natural environment in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains contributed to locating the Satellite Services Centre in Psary, Poland's only satellite centre and one of the largest in the world. Springs of therapeutical waters from Busko-Zdrój and Solec-Zdrój made whole region well-known. These waters in combination with a very favourable microclimate make that sanatorium complexes of these spas enjoy great popularity.
